Acrylgemälde Skiabfahrt Planai Nr. 10 von Myriam Probst, Schneesturm mit zwei gelben Gondeln, 100 × 100 cm
1/9

Acrylic on canvas, 100 × 100 cm, framed in a floater frame. One-of-a-kind piece.

Anyone who knows the Mitterhaus run on the Planai is familiar with this light: the snowfall becomes so dense that top and bottom merge into one, and the Mitterhausalm II gondolas suddenly become the only fixed points in a white void, forcing you to ski purely by feel.

No. 10 is the red run that locals know and connoisseurs love, because you can simply ski there away from the World Cup hustle. I wanted to capture the exact moment when the weather takes control, visibility drops to near zero, and the Mitterhausalm II gondolas drift silently through the mist.

In the lower part of the painting, the churned-up snow cover still bears the traces of everything that was just visible; above that, everything dissolves into a diffuse, breathless white. The two gondolas in warm yellow are the only accent of color and anchor the image, while the cable cuts diagonally through the composition and gives structure to the emptiness. I worked with a free, broad brush so that the movement of the storm is embedded in the surface, telling its own story.

So that expectations are clear: this is a painting about driving snow and fog, about that exact weather when the slopes go quiet, and that is exactly what I like about it.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is the painting delivered framed?
Yes, the painting is delivered framed. For this size, I recommend a simple floater frame in black or white, which gives the composition room to breathe. I am happy to help if you have questions regarding the choice of frame.

How is the painting shipped?
I secure large formats with corner protectors, bubble wrap, and heavy-duty cardboard and ship them with tracking so that they survive even longer journeys safely.

Can I return the painting?
Yes, the statutory right of withdrawal applies; the details can be found in my cancellation policy. If you would like to know how the painting will look in your home beforehand, please feel free to send me a photo of your wall.

I run a hotel or an alpine hut in the Schladming region. Are there B2B terms?
Yes. For commercial buyers and interior design projects in the region, I am happy to take the time for a personal conversation, as this work has a direct connection to the Mitterhaus run.
