It was a casual moment: an anthurium in a florist's window, upright, luminous, and perfectly at rest amidst the street noise. I painted exactly this moment in acrylic and oil, and this motif is now available as a canvas print.
Three blossoms in a simple glass vase, in rich pink and deep purple, stand against a background of emerald green, earth tones, and dark swirls that move, while the blossoms remain completely still. This tension is the painting.
