It was born from a meditation on a journey through India, in which I felt my own energy flowing and connecting with a cosmic movement. I drew this spiral countless times before I carved it in stone.

Shortly before it was finished, the stone broke. I joined it back together and set the break in gold in the spirit of Japanese kintsugi: the break is not hidden, it becomes the most beautiful part of the story.

Details

Material: soapstone from India, turquoise, slightly translucent, partly layered

Dimensions: approx. 40 cm high, 25 cm deep, 20 cm wide

Weight: approx. 6 kg

Hardness: Mohs 1, soapstone is the softest sculpting stone

Break: set in gold, in the spirit of kintsugi

Upper part attached with pins and removable

Free-standing.
